TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 FAQ-List

General questions

Question:
Under what environmental conditions can TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 be used?
Answer:
TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 has been tested in the following environments:
Platforms: Windows2000, XP and Windows 7.
Development environments: .Net 1.1; .Net 2.0
Question:
Is there a limit for TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 with regard to the number of curve points?
Answer:
The number of data records depends on the main memory of the machine used. The application itself must therefore monitor the user memory. However, the number of data records can also be defined explicitly in TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0.
Question:
What is the exact difference between TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 Standard Version and Professional Version?
Answer:
With the TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 Professional Version you can interactively (per mouse) arrange scales and curves or move individual curve points. With the Standard Version, scales can only be moved to a desired position using the corresponding properties.
Question:
Can the switchover to summer time in the time scale be switched off?
Answer:
The TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 uses the system functions to calculate the displayed time, and the summer time display cannot therefore be switched off.

License Questions

Question:
Why does TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 still appear in demo mode even though a license has been purchased and installed?
Answer:
Before TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 is embedded in a user container, the Lic file must be copied into the installation directory of the TrendViewer. If the TrendViewer has already been used in demo mode and a license purchased subsequently, it is necessary to embed the TrendViewer component into the user container again after the Lic file has been copied into the installation directory.
To do this, delete the TrendViewer from the corresponding control, form, etc. and embed again using the Toolbox (in certain cases it is necessary to also restart the development environment).
Question:
Are there other reasons why TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 perhaps does not recognize the license file and "Demo version" appears in the TrendViewer window?
Answer:
The license does not have the correct name or is located in an incorrect directory. The license file "trendviewer.lic" - with exactly this name - must be present in the same directory as the registered TrendViewer3 .Net 2.0 in order to be recognized when using the TrendViewer.
